    The Unsolved Munk Mystery

Munk, Munch, Meunch, Muench --no one's quite sure. But Adam Munk first appeared in Watertown as a traveling music teacher and according to family legend, met Susan Avery at the Presbyterian church where they eventually married.

Susan and Adam relocated to Oswego, New York, and after the birth of their fourth child, Adam began traveling to Albany, New York to serve as a translator for the state legislature.

One not so fine day late in December of 1852, Adam was seen talking to a German peddler. One hundred and fifty years later, his descendants still ponder the implications of that meeting.

Adam Munk was never seen again. His hat was found floating in the canal; his clothes were discovered along the banks of the Hudson River.
